AWS announced it cannot restore data from damaged Middle East Availability Zones.
AWS informed customers that it cannot restore resources and data hosted exclusively in the mec1-az2 availability zone in the UAE or exclusively in the Bahrain region. The damage, resulting from the conflict with Iran, spanned multiple availability zones and exceeded what AWS's regional and multi-AZ services are designed to withstand. This incident raises concerns about data integrity in conflict-affected regions.
