German authorities identified UNKN, the head of Russian ransomware groups GandCrab and REvil.
German authorities have revealed the identity of the hacker known as UNKN. Daniil Maksimovich Shchukin, a 31-year-old Russian, headed both the GandCrab and REvil ransomware groups. He is accused of carrying out at least 130 acts of computer sabotage and extortion against victims in Germany between 2019 and 2021.
