Google's Project Suncatcher is a long-term research initiative exploring the possibility of operating scalable machine learning infrastructure in space. As part of this effort, a prototype satellite will be launched to test whether Google TPU functions well in the space environment. Notably, low-earth orbit satellites can harvest up to 8 times more solar power than on the ground, making them advantageous for energy production.
