libexpat 프로젝트는 2026년 8월 1일부터 뮌헨시의 Open Source Sabbatical 프로그램을 통해 최대 6개월간 유급 유지보수에 들어갑니다. 이 유지보수의 우선순위는 미해결 취약점 5개의 수정과 XML 1.0r5 지원 추가, 그리고 프로젝트의 견고성을 향상시키는 것입니다. 이를 통해 libexpat의 안정성이 더욱 향상될 것으로 기대됩니다.

The libexpat project will transition to up to 6 months of paid maintenance starting August 1, 2026, funded by the city of Munich's Open Source Sabbatical program.
