Proof-of-concept (PoC) exploit code has been released for a recently patched security flaw in the Linux kernel, CVE-2026-31635, which could allow local privilege escalation (LPE). Discovered by the Zellic and V12 security team, the flaw was reported on May 9, 2026, but was indicated to be a duplicate of an existing vulnerability. This situation raises concerns regarding potential exploitation in the wild.
