7-Zip에서 조작된 XZ 아카이브를 열면 공격자가 코드 실행이 가능해지는 취약점이 발견됐다. 이 결함은 CVE-2026-14266로, 아카이브가 XZ 청크 데이터 처리 시 발생하는 힙 기반의 버퍼 오버플로우로 인한 것이다. 해당 취약점은 7-Zip 26.02에서 수정됐다.

A new 7-Zip vulnerability allows code execution from crafted XZ archives.
A vulnerability in 7-Zip allows an attacker to execute code on a machine by opening a crafted XZ archive. This flaw, identified as CVE-2026-14266, is a heap-based buffer overflow related to the processing of XZ chunked data. A fix was released for this vulnerability on June 25 in version 7-Zip 26.02.
