A zero-day proof-of-concept tool named BigDiskBuster has been published that prevents Microsoft Defender from installing platform and signature updates by filling up all available disk space. Released on September 19 on GitHub, there is currently no patch, CVE, or advisory from Microsoft regarding this tool. Its author, Abdelhamid Naceri, is a former Microsoft security researcher known for earlier exploits of Defender.
