NeurIPS, WACV, ECCV TerraBytes에서 심사한 22편 중 15편이 조작된 인용이나 저자 목록을 포함하고 있었다. 이 중 가짜 저자를 신고한 두 논문은 참고문헌 수정 조건으로 구두 발표에 채택되었다. 또한, 2025년 학술 문헌에는 약 14만6,900건의 환각 인용이 발생할 것으로 예상된다.

Two papers reporting fake authors were accepted for oral presentation.

Of the 22 papers reviewed for NeurIPS, WACV, and ECCV TerraBytes, 15 contained manipulated citations or author lists. Among these, two papers that reported fake authors were accepted for oral presentation under the condition of reference modification. Additionally, an estimated 146,900 hallucinated citations are expected to exist in academic literature by 2025.
