Ink & Switch has introduced Bijou64, a new variable-length integer encoding that ensures every number has exactly one byte representation. This design addresses vulnerabilities found in PKCS#1, JWT libraries, and Bitcoin, closing a canonicality bug class. Bijou64 decodes two to ten times faster than LEB128 and has led to community ports in Elixir, Go, Perl, and Java.
