메타는 NSO 그룹이 연루된 스피어 피싱 공격을 탐지하고 차단했다고 발표했다. 이와 함께 메타는 NSO 그룹이 WhatsApp 및 사용자들을 표적으로 삼지 못하도록 하는 영구적 금지 명령을 위반했다며 연방법원에 위반 소송을 제기할 것이라고 밝혔다. 공격자들은 피해자들을 악성 링크를 클릭하게 하여 외부 웹사이트로 유도하려 했다고 전했다.

Meta reported that it detected and blocked spear-phishing attempts linked to the NSO Group, an Israeli spyware vendor. The company also stated it would file a federal court contempt order against NSO for violating a permanent injunction barring it from targeting WhatsApp and its users. The attackers attempted to trick users into clicking malicious links to redirect them to external websites.
