Claude AI has cracked a post-quantum test and significantly improved the speed of AES attacks.

Anthropic's Claude Mythos Preview has derived an end-to-end key-recovery attack against HAWK-256. This attack exploits a previously unused symmetry in the lattice behind the signature scheme. As a result, there is a speedup of 200 to 800 times for a seven-round AES-128 attack. The released implementation provides an expected end-to-end runtime of about three hours and 42 minutes on a 96-core server.
